Jobs with Justice
ImageThe Jobs with Justice Campaign seeks to challenge the Federal Government’s closure of Community Development Employment Programs )CDEP) in the Northern Territory.  Local Aboriginal people say that the Federal Government promised Aboriginal people real jobs, but, instead, they are doing community jobs like picking up rubbish for quarantined Centrelink payments.  To find out more and to link to a Senate petition on the issue, go to http://natsiec.wordpress.com/

Death Penalty
ImagePlease continue your prayers for Scott Rush, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran as they await decisions on their final appeals against their death sentences in Bali.  Chris Rush, Scott’s mother, spoke at the last prayer vigil  and said that they were not hopeful of a decision soon.  One of the lawyers representing the Nigerian man on death row with Scott, Titus Ani, assured us that our prayers were greatly appreciated by the men on death row.  Our next death penalty prayer vigil will take place on Tuesday 23 November at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Church, Churchill Street, Graceville.
